The Frisco Parks and Recreation Department manages 48 Parks that cover 1,369 acres. These parks include larger community parks and smaller neighborhood parks. Frisco is also dedicated to becoming a bike and pedestrian friendly town. In order to do so, there is a vast system of Trails throughout the city. Students in Frisco are educated at several excellent public school districts in the region. The main district for the community is Frisco Independent School District. The FISD is ranked in the top 10 % of Texas schools, with a 9 out of 10 rating, based on the schools’ test results. Students experience progressive learning with a district commitment to establish facilities that maintain a small, personal learning environment. The student to teacher ratio is 15:1. This district operates 40 elementary schools, 16 middle schools, and 9 high schools within Frisco and the surrounding area. Located 25 miles from Frisco, Dallas Love Field (8008 Herb Kelleher Way) offers domestic flights. Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (2400 Aviation Drive), located 29 miles away, has both domestic and international flights.
